  2. After the closing ceremonies at the Lemay museum, we packed Jon's Truck to overflowing with the 5 motorcycles, all of our spare parts and special tools, luggage, Tee shirts from stops during the trip, everything we had except for what we needed for the night at hotel was packed into truck and trailer, ready for the trip home. There was 4 people to ride to Texas, and the mood was perfect after Team Carson pulled off two second place finishes in class 2 and class 3 by Mike Carson and Jon Neuman. It was decided to have a Team Dinner Monday night with the riders needing a little rest, Jon had the truck serviced for the trip home and it was parked ready for the trip when the worst happened.

We all lost everything but what we had on or carried to our room, after a once in a lifetime experience traveling with so many great people. I was lucky that I carried my laptop to the room. Flying home tomorrow, will post more later.

Thanks to all of our friends. Shelby

  3. Unless my tools are recovered I will have to retire from rebuilding or restoring for the public. 48 years of collecting tools from dealers, swap meets and trading with other collectors, I had amassed a complete tool box of antique tool and die makers hand tools for mechanical restorations and rebuilding linkerts including the factory cleanout tools, I brought my large metal storage box of n.o.s. Linkert parts for all models along with 4 carbs brought to keep these machines running, like I did on the Cherokee Texas Hill Country road run. All gone....................

I set out to prove to myself I had recovered from my Colon Cancer surgery by being part of this event, and I achieved that only to be kicked in the nuts by scum. I will wait for a while and see what happens, Mother starts Chemo again Nov. 11, so I will have my hands full at home.

Lets hope everyone recovers their losses, Shelby
